I have never felt that this truck has the power it should, but this past weekend, I was leaving a campground pulling my 6700# (dry weight) 5th wheel up a fairly steep gravel incline and I had it floored and right before I almost couldn't go any farther (due to no power), the rear wheels started spinning. I stopped and put it in 4 wheel drive. I was then able to limp up the rest of the hill. I see many diesel and gas truck pull much heaver trailers up this hill with no problem.

How can I test the power I am putting out and what could be the problem. I have had the 80 hp Edge program in it since 2004. I routinely change fuel filter, air filters etc. The IDM and IPC have been replace about 6 months ago, other than that nothing has changed.

Any ideas, Thanks

I think you are going to have to invest in a fuel pressure gauge and a scanner (like AE) that will monitor your ICP sensor data, IPR duty cycle, MAP sensor data and others to make a diagnosis. It could be something as simple as a bad sensor, MAP sensor hose, blown injector o-rings or a weak HPOP. Until you have the data - its a crap shoot.

I've always wanted to get an AE, maybe now is the time. Will this give me all of the information you mentioned. Will the Ford software work on all Fords or is there a specific program for my truck? Last, Is it user friendly? I have a Vag Com for my VW Jetta and this is a little tricky to figure out. Luckly there is a good forum for the VW's where people can walk me through things.

I'm sure I'll get help here too if needed.

I'll do some searching when I get time.

BTW, where is the best place to purchase this?

Thanks
