I am not to familiar with these E4OD transmissions, so looking for some input.

Was pulling approximately 4000 lbs yesterday and had a chatter through the drive train between 10 and 20 mph only. This happened only when increasing speed, not when slowing down.

I had about 1000 lbs in the bed a few weeks ago and did not have this issue, so this is a bit perplexing for me.

I inspected the U-Joints when I got the truck and everything looked good and tight. Made sure they were well greased as well. Transmission fluid looks good with no burnt smell to it. Shifts fine with no issues.

Thanks for any input.

If it is a two piece drive shaft, check the swing bearing. It sounds like that might be what your trouble might be. With the weight of the trailer tongue on the truck, it might have been enough to change the drive line angle, and cause the vibration. I've had that same thing happen with a load in the truck, might happen with trailer tongue weight as well.

Thank you. Did not think of that. The truck did squat to the point where going over bumps didn't move the truck at all.

I had a chatter and found the transmission-crossmember bolts loose.
