MAP sensor unpluged?

can you run a PS diesel with the MAP sensor unpluged?

Yes, but not very well. It should throw a CEL because the MAP sensor also reads atmospheric pressure at KOEO. If the PCM sees less than 5.7 PSIA (-9PSIG), as would happen with the sensor unplugged, it will not be happy.

If your MAP sensor is tittsup, it may run better but still not good.

I ran with the map unpluged for a week and now it a cuts out like a bad cam sensor, what gives? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Is the MAP sensor plugged back in? Is the Check Engine Light on? Why was the sensor unplugged? Was just the hose unplugged or the wiring?

the wireing was unpluged the ck engine lite is on but i get no codes
