I have a 2003 Excursion 7.3L that I just put an AFE Stage 2 intake, Edge Juice with attitude and MBRP 4" turbo back exhaust. I tow a 9,000lb toy hauler with it and have it lifted 6" with 35" Toyo MTs. I am wondering where I should set the max EGT and boost on the programmer and how long I should have it defuel for. Any ideas??

Thanks,
James

Best not to go much over 25 psi on the stock turbo with no mods to it.

For EGTs, 1250 is the redline... don't go much over that for any significant length of time.

Hey, thanks. First trip with the trailer after the chip is this weekend. A couple of pretty good hills to climb so we will see how she does...

ryaneverk2 is right - provided your Attitude gets the EGT before the turbo. If it gets it post-turbo, then nobody can give you a good answer except to move the thermocouple to before the turbo. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

International engineers told us you can cruise all day long at 1,200 pre-turbo EGT, but 1,250 is the red line. So when mountain climbing I "drive by the gauges" and try to maintain about 1,200 to 1,250 EGT. That's usually 55 to 60 MPH up 7 percent interstate grades with my 8,000-pound 5er and my hot-rod towing machine.

For turbo boost (intake manifold pressure), they told us 25 PSI is the red line with a stock turbo. You might get away with more - or you might not. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif On mine, if I don't cross the red line for EGT, then the boost will be below the red line too.
