I built a DIY megasquirt controller for my 96 1/2 ton with a 450 horse cleveland. My question is that has anyone heard of it? Second has any one figured out how to make your diesel run off it. I think it may may be possible since this truck is fully electronic. For those wondering what a megasquirt is go to Megasquirt Kits / Assembled Engine Management Systems, Wideband o2 Sensor Systems and tuning products - DIYAutoTune.com. Look at the megasquirt 2. Its a put together kit that you solder up. I want to see how far this goes and if any know how. It's $200 for a standalone efi controller, you can't beet it. Megasuirt gives you info for diesel so i imagine someones done it. Think about it no more expensive chips tune EVERYTHING from your laptop, and full control. I'm ready to build another one to do this but I want to know ALL variables cuz a diesel is a little more sensitve to certain changes than a gasser.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news here, but The Megasquirt EFI system wasn't designed for diesel engines, and consequently it does not have many of the features needed for precise injector timing control that diesels need. It can be used for systems that supply additional fuel into the intake manifold such as propane. However, it is not capable of controlling diesel injectors themselves or replacing the stock ECU on a diesel engine.
