With my 97 F350 4x4 knocking down 15 mpg with a 1500lb load with 277K on the odometer, I"m thinking of investing in a 98 E350 7.3 to replace my 2002 5.4L gas van knocking down 11mpg with the same payload.

My question is, with that load, what kind of mileage am I looking at? Anyone with similar payload have a firm number. Driving is mixed Hwy/City.

with my old van, I did a 800 mile run with a 1600lb load and I got 16.6mpg... If that helps any.

I'm with bbasso, tho for mixed driving. that load shouldn't affect it one way or another. hiway i get around 20 with my 2003. dont ask about the 6.0l. its ugly

Empty, I've maxed at 22.5MPG...
