it takes me so long to type a post to this site that when I go to send, it says the page is no longer valid. I have tried 3 times and lost my post all three times and I am not happy... it been this way for me since the site was reworked. a short quick post goes thru without trouble.... What can we do about this??? thanks

I got my post out but only by cutting and pasteing from the invalid, timed out page. I think it sucks to have to do it this way.

I am usually thinking while I am typing and it takes awhile, and then I go over it to correct my mistakes and sometimes it may take 15 to 30 minutes to get out what I want to say and how to say it....

Does any one else have a problem like this, with this site? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I generally type pretty fast so I don't have the problem.

I have however let a post set for 30+ minutes and it has never happened.

As suggested, copy your reply before hitting submit.

All you have to do is press, [CTRL A] then [CTRL C]

Never heard of ctrl A? I have always used ctrl C to copy and ctrl v to paste.

Here is a cool tool to use if you type slow as I do, most or all windows base computers come with a program called Note Pad or word pad These are very usefull for taking your time to compose and then just cut and paste to the forum, they can be open and used while You are on line and You can just minimize each one to access one or the other,Just remember to Refresh the website to do Your Completed Post to Stay current or Real time.

Hope this helps

you're both correct...

Ctrl A means select all.
Ctrl C means Copy
Ctrl V means Paste (for whatever reason)

..and Ctrl X means Cut
and Alt + Tab toggles windows
and Win key + I I opens internet explorer
and Shift + End highlights whole row if at beginning
and Shift + Home highlights whole row if at end
and Shift + arrow keys highlight
and Ctrl + Del deletes whole word to right
and Ctrl + Backspace deletes whole word to left
and Ctrl + N opens a new window
and Alt + F4 closes current window
and Alt + F4 brings up Shut Down menu if now windows are open
and Ctrl + Home jumps to very beginning of document
and Ctrl + End jumps to very end of document
and F11 goes full screen
and Alt + Forward Arrow is Forward
and Alt + Back Arrow is Back
and I could go on and on

I love shortcuts, benefit of being lazy.

Oh yeah, and I can do this. ¿ ¡ °

I wonder what harm it would do to allow a person more time to post?....

Stop using the "Quick Reply" window and use the "Reply" button inside a post.

When the software upgrade first happened a few weeks back it happened to me once, but since then I've let a post sit after hitting Reply and typing a bit, then coming back, and it worked fine. It may only happen with the Quick Reply, so do like Subman suggested and just hit Reply like we always used to have to do.

Also it's a good idea to Ctrl A then Ctrl C any long posts, because even if there's not a site timeout for the quick reply, you never know the internet could crash at your home, or your computer... sort of like Ctrl S to save a document you're writing, just in case. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/warmsmile.gif
