I am new to the EX and don't have a lot to compare to performance-wise. I don't know if I have some sort of turbo leak, blocked air, or a bad turbo pressure gauge, etc.... Under full acceleration I only get about 8-10 psi showing on the gauge. Any thoughts?

I know the boost on these is low, I thought like 5psi but I really don't know, I would find out what the normal psi is. Also there is a performance section and it deals with aftermarket and engine performance stuff, they could tell you more since it is used by people who know these trucks well.

Do you have to take the turbo off to inspect? I thought they have a thing where it plugs into the intake and pressurizes the whole track and they can tell if your sister can take and hold pressure or not?

I don't know what they do in your shop for testing whether your sister can handle pressure, but I'm pretty sure that's not how they would do it in mine :D

Seriously though, there's more to turbo operation than whether it holds pressure.

Sorry. Got my mind crossed with a naughty joke.

Sure but I would like to fix that before I go chasing ghosts. I almost accused Jody of screwing up the tune when I found that my up-pipes were leaking. Fixed it and problem was solved. Glad I kept my mouth shut till then. I was sure there were no leaks and the pipes were fine. That is, until I noticed a black spot on my hands when groping around

Here is the verdict: the Florida diesel shop never suspected this one. When the mech took the turbo off he found a "cold package" heat valve frozen partially opened. They pulled that sucker off and all is well!
