If I drove you all nuts with my enthusiasm for BTS before, watch out now!! I've FINALLY got my BTS in (Brian wanted to know why I waited so long ) and I can say that it is cooler than I ever thought.

Now, we've had a BTS tranny in White Lightening for over 2 years now, so I know what it can do for a truck, but when Alan got his in, I was unable to go with him, so I did not have that firsthand "BTS experience". Plus, I think when it is your own personal truck that you drive everyday, it is different. As Brian says, he gives each truck it's own attitude with his tranny tuning. The inside of each tranny is the same quality (the best), but the tuning that Brian does on those plates is the key to the individual attitude.

I dare anyone to go spend a day with Brian, watching him tear apart and put together one of these trannys and come away from the experience any less excited than I am. He took the time to explain to me everything that he was doing and I even got to get my hands in my own tranny as parts were going in. It is absolutely amazing the lengths that he goes, but he continues to say that what he does is just common sense and that everyone should be doing these things. I know now that they are not. There is one guy that built my tranny, and he is the owner and the one who puts his name on his work.

You can say all you want that I have BTS blinders on or that I am, what was that GEM, always cotton pickin BTS defendin?, but after spending the time that I just did with Brian, his crew and his family, I can say that I have every right and will not ever hide behind my keyboard (I am the same in person as I am right here). You just don't understand unless you have been there, done that.

I don't claim to know a lot about these trannys, but I can tell you that I now understand much more than I ever thought I would and now probably more than many out there. I am thrilled that I was right all along about BTS being the best, but the best thing is that now I understand why.

Brian, thanks for the schoolin and the extra special treatment you give your customers. You've got a life long supporter here in Colorado.

Cale, thanks for the programming. I am enjoying it and can't wait to do some testing up here in this thin air.

Matt and Jeremey, thanks for all your hard work. I hope to see you guys again real soon.

Patti, thanks for including us in your family. You made us feel very special. We will be back.

Hopefully, I will get all my pictures posted today.

I also need to add that on the way to Arkansas, we stopped off in Oklahoma and spent some time with Tony Wildman at Lake Tenkiller. Thanks Tony for showing us such a good time and treating us like one of your own family. We can't wait to show you the same treatment when you come to Colorado. AlbertBlack and I really enjoyed your kids!

Very well put Shay! I agree 100%...which is why I tell everyone that they should do their best to go to BTS and watch their trans getting built instead of just trying to order one through the mail (yes, I understand that some can't go, but I think all should try if possible). There is a big difference between saying "here is the list of parts and mods we do" and watching the parts and mods get installed while Brian explains why each piece is how it is.

Congrats on getting your own BTS...I KNOW you will enjoy it!

Thanks guys. Yes, a shop that specializes in just one brand is the only way to go. Makes me feel a little sorry for those Cummins and Dmax guys. They just don't have anyplace to go to that even begins to compare.

Here are my photos from the trip:

Don't say that to Bill Kondalay of DTT....the Dodge version of BTS.

Ya, I agree on the Dodge trans. DTT is the BTS for the Dodges.

Well, Shay Congrats on your BTS, I have the same grin! I got to watch it get installed at the least. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Are they in the new building yet?

If so, where is it located.

What tranny cooler is that in your picture? Is it part of the magic that Brian does? By the way good pictures.

Not in new building yet. They were supposed to be, but that is how things go. They are thinkin' that they might be in it in a few weeks or so. I just wanted mine in before Truck Fest, so we went ahead and did it.

The tranny cooler in the pic is a torqshift cooler. Brian wanted to see what it would do for my X. 60 degrees over ambient temps is what it has done, Brian is happy.

I know DTT trannys are good and if I had a different vehicle, I would go with them. But, you have to admit, specializing in only one brand of vehicles does give you an advantage. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif Thank goodness Brian and I both bleed blue. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

I should have more pics soon, as Patti was taking quite a few herself. She said she would send them to me.

We did end up at Gaston's. Didn't really know what we were going to until we got there, just started following signs trying to find a restaurant because I was starving. We were there on July 4th in the evening. Almost stopped to watch the fireworks over the dam, but it looked a bit crowded, so we just went on back to Lead Hill. Ended up seeing Brian out in the parking lot of BTS and stopped to talk to him for a bit before turning in.

LOL, yall wandered along way to find a place to eat!!! Although it is a pretty nice place to eat. When you came to gastons did you come across the dam through the town of bull shoals or did you turn before you crossed the dam. I was in memphis that weekend helping my brother move.

We did go a long way to eat. I was driving, because the roads were so twisty that I would have gotten sick just riding and I was hungry and getting a bit grouchy. All the restaurants we passed were closed, then we saw those big Gastons signs and just followed them. We drove across the dam to get there. Alan and I actually talked about you on that drive and wondered how close we were to you. We went on some back roads, even our GPS got lost. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

yall came the back way in, you went past the ranger boat plant in flippin My place is the other way. If you went out the other way it takes you toward mtn home. My house is about half way between mtn home and were gastons is. Sure is nice to be so close to brian. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif He is a first class individual!!! Im looking forward to them getting in the new shop and having a grand opening shebang!!! Did he tell you about the little pull we put on in lead hill?? We had a big crowd show up. Itll be crazy with the grand opening if everybody shows up.

Yes, we did go by the Ranger place and Flippin (that name cracks me up). And yes, Brian is a first class guy, so is his whole crew and family. We would love to be closer to him and actually looked around at places down there. We just fell in love with that area while there. Got to go out on the lake and it was wonderful. Water felt like bath water. I told Brian he needed to come up here so that I could dump him in our cold water lake. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif He did tell us about the pulls, sounds like it went well. We were talking about doing some really cool stuff at the grand opening, maybe sometime in October. They will be in the new shop sooner than that, but will put off the grand opening for awhile. It will be a HUGE weekend. We plan on coming out and spending at least a week there when it happens. We're ready to move out of Colorado and head to Arkansas. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif Even my native Coloradoan hubby is ready. We just love the slow paced lifestyle, weather, lake and having BTS at your doorstep.
