My NAPA/Echlin GPR-110 just bit the dust at 10-months & 1-week.

NAPA counter guy says it came with a 3-year warranty so I can get a free replacement.

I wonder how many more times I will need to do this in the remaining 2-years, 1-month and 3-weeks of the warranty? :winking:

I learned about the Stancor the day after I bought the Echlin.

My ScanGauge-II still displayed 99% but my voltage did not drop when I cycled the key.

I then tested it directly with a multi-meter and confirmed it was bad.

That SC-II is sure alot of bang for the buck. It also identified a bad EBPS earlier this month.

I have used Stancor GPR before with good results but when I bought my current truck I decided to buy cheaper so I bought 2 Snow Plow Relays, installed one and put the other in my tool box as a spare. So far I haven't needed my spare and that was 4 years ago. :grin2:

The last GPR110 I bought lasted three days. I had to drive 90 miles to swap the part so you can bet I didn't replace it with the same.

NAPA actually offered to give me a cash refund.

Now I need to find the best price on the Stancor (White Rogers).

I used this one Western Solenoid Motor Relay NS 56131, it's been on there for 12 months.

Cheap cheap.:smile2:
Dang Googs.

I wish I would have seen your post earlier. I just got back from Diesel O-rings shop where I bought the Relay on Growth Hormones--the Stancor.

I am going to install it now.

Cheers

Yes it is the Western Snow Plow relay. They seem to work fine. I tested mine today and I have .1 volt drop across the contacts...not bad after 4 years.

Thanks for the additional details and thats great to only have 0.1v loss across the posts.
My local Western Plow guy wanted about $44 for one.

Googs,

That link you provided also sells these Roof Lights.

I wonder if Nick has seen these for helping him to be seen while plowing.

Wow, they're as flash as a rat with a gold tooth. :grin2:

I think Nick would have seen them , not much goes passed him on the open market in today's world.
