hello,
i have a 97 f350 and took it in because the oil pressure guage was fluttering. they said that the oil pump need to be replaced and quoted me 2000.00 is this in the ball park. also i just moved to reno nv. does anybody know of a mechanic in this area.

If you are talking about the gauge in the dash, they don't mean much if they move at all. They are idiot gauges that are just on or off. Most likly you just need a sending unit, but I would get a mechanical gauge and hook it up just to be sure.
