Welcome to the group. Best advise I can give you is to check the link page on this site and buy or ask one of the supporters of the web site. Good luck. Once you start adding accessories and performance stuff to your truck, you can't stop. There is no end to what you can do to modify your rig. You can improve performance, MPG and life of your truck with this stuff. I know most of the supporters of this site will be happy to offer any advise you might need.

Welcoms to TDS,

Jody has some very nice programs. You can PM him here DP_Tuner.

Or E-mail him direct at [email protected]

Or call him (828) 221-0076.

Don't forget GAUGES, Intake, and exhaust. These should be your first mods along with a chip.

Again GET GAUGES!!!

Hope this helps,

Tom

Most of the sponsors here are pretty competitive.

The ones I have personal (and positive) experience with are:

Bob Riley Dieselsite .

David Lott Diesel Innovations.

Jody Tipton DP Tuner

They all have quality products and will take the time to insure you get what you want/need.

Hope this helps,

Tom

IAH=Intake Air Heater removed. This is a heater designed to heat the air being drawn into your engine. Provides quicker warm air to the engine. It's also a significant restriction to your airflow. Unless you live in a very cold climate. You probably won't need it.

Remember diesels want to move more air, in and out, and more fuel to go with it.

FPR=Fuel Pressure Regulator. A shim is installed in the regulator to increase the fuel pressure. Mine is running at Approx. 65#'s

HX mod= High Pressure Crossover Hose. The oil that runs your injectors enters the engine at the rear of one head, travels the length of that head, crosses over, and then travels the length of the second head. This causes the last injector in line to be starving for oil sometimes. The hose attach's to two existing ports about halfway down the engine and and lets the oil cross to the other head sooner.
It makes your truck run slightly smoother and quieter too.

EBPV=Exhaust Back Pressure Valve removed. Just post turbo is a flapper valve that closes when the truck is started cold and provides a restriction in the exhaust to help the engine work a little harder at idle which causes it (the engine) to warm up faster. Also a restriction in getting air out of the engine. (See above). Again, if you don't live in a cold climate you probably won't notice it's gone.

Map Sensor Mod. This allows me to boost over the factory set safety limit of Approx. 24-26#'s If the computer sees a reading in excess of the factory safety limit it will de-fuel the engine causing power loss at high RPM's.

Man I hope I got all of that right. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/phoney.gif If I did not, I know someone will come along and correct me. Hopefully politely.

Hope this helps,

Tom
