I have a 1995 powerstroke. my right rear blinker does not work. the hazard, running light and brake light all work, except when I turn on the blinker I no longer get a brake light, but if I have the blinker off the brake light works. Any ideas where to start looking for this problem?! I'm starting to go nuts trying to find the issue.

its the turn signal multifunction switch, buy a new one, or they can be cleaned carefully. mine was all "green" inside, cleaned, lubed, and works fine:thumbsup:. i had your identical problem at one point before i cleaned it, could have sworn there was a problem with the wires to the right rear:nono:

ok I have a new one, but i didn't think that would be the problem. I'll throw it in and see. I was hoping i could return it lol. I've already taken the mf switch out and cleaned it because I had no blinkers, and I thought that was the issue, but it turned out to be the flasher lol. I'll post back after i get it in. Thanks for the reply S95!

you really have to clean them well, both the flat pad contact side and the spring loaded slider-riders on the other side. its a bit tedious for sure.

yea i ripped it apart and cleaned it with break cleaner then polished the side with the 2 springed pieces and the other side. I think my problem is that one of the peices with the spring had lost the retention nub so I don't think it was being held it properly. Either way i put the new mf switch and boom i got turn signal on the right side even with brakes applied!! yay thanks for your help S95. Now on to bigger problems like why my brake pedal sometimes gets "stuck" after releasing.

stuck down? brakes on? first sign of booster going out likely. Slow to return on the first use in the morning?

I had a similar issue last summer, and it drove me nuts; intermittent brake lights / turn signals / taillight / trans / cruise control issues, just random enough to stump me. Of course, the added junction box with the trailer wiring and the backup floods and LED turn and brake lights on the ladder rack added to the possible sources, so tracing the problem was nearly impossible. As it turned out, the grounds at the aft end of the truck weren't adequate (despite a new ground at the trailer j-box and a new ground strap from cab to frame to bed...) I ended up cutting off the taillight and backup light ground wires from the harness and now the grounds from the lamp sockets connect immediately to the bed via ring terminals and sheetmetal screws. WOW - the taillights are as bright as they oughta be, and all the various flashers, cruise control, etc. all work as intended. As an old friend said, when in doubt, check your grounds. Good luck.

s95,I haven't noticed any issues with it slow to return on first use in the morning. it seems to do it randomly, doesn't matter whether the truck is warmed up or not, every once in awhile when i push the brakes the pedal stays enganged and I have to pull it back up with my foot. its just enough to create drag as if I were trying to slow down. Its a really pain in the arse when its icy out.

when mine started doing things like that it was the booster,,, it actually had water in it! driving with you foot under the brake is a pia in the winter for sure.
