I'm wanting to upgrade my front end to an 05, 06 grill and the single piece headlights. I'm also looking for the front air dam that has the two round light holes in it. I need to know what's involved in switching to the newer lights and where I can find these parts. If anyone has already done all the work I would appreciate the help.

If you are planning on keeping your existing header panel use this for your lights....

If you go this route and keep your existing header panel then you will need to zip tie in the bottom of your grille since the bottom snaps do not line up. This isn't a real problem..the main supports for the grille is the top screws...the bottom is just to keep it in the proper location.

If you get the new header panel...then it will bolt right in...and so will the grille..

I am not sure about the bumper ....I think it might be an Xenon air dam...

good luck,
Steven

The bottom snaps won't. But it isn't a big deal. You can zip tie the bottom of it back to the header panel. The top 5-6 screws line up perfect. The header panel is like a hundred bucks... Nobody will know but you...

Thanks for the info guys. I thought about replacing the header panel, bumper and all but I really like the looks of the air dam with the lights built into it. Steven yours looks good with the painted bumper but I'm thinking since mine's white it might not look as good and I have black fender flares. I've heard that if you use the old bumper with the newer grille you have to dremel off the bottom corners.

Just tape it off and dremel about 1.5 to 1.75 inches off the bottom. Then zip tie in the bottom. It looks great that way too... I have seen guys do the chrome package grille too...so the XLT isn't the only option...

good luck,
Steven

I noticed that ebay has a few coversion grilles that are already machined off. They're going for around $300 shipped so it looks like that's the way to go. I just missed a set of the single piece headlights today for $200. I'll watch for another set on there. I think that's all I need to get. Then I can get the harness from Dfuser. Does that sound about right.

You can get the grille for like 150-170 shipped from www.powerstrokeshop.com I paid like 170 for the chrome package grille. I would save yourself some money and do yourself...

I have seen alot of the newer grilles go for more than you can buy new... They are alot cheaper then you would expect..

good luck,
Steven

IMO change the whole front end out. It is not a bad job at all.

See pics in my sig.
