Hello, I have a very small leak . it looks like its from the power steering pump. but the front of the pump is dry .. it looks like its coming from maybe were the reservoir hose is connected to the pump, but cant tell... it also could be diesel , I have not had to add any steering fluid and it has not left any spots in the driveway . it might also be diesel fuel . what could be leaking above this to do this ? I would not worry about it but its leaving a wet mark on my lower radiator hose and I don't know what the oil will do to the hose.
its be going on for about 8 months
ps the truck has 85k on it

If it is too hard to get a good look at the leak point, there are small do-it yourself kits available that use dye and UV/blue lites that can trace leaks. Some kits are under $50 on the internet if you look hard enough. Kit will include the oil and/or fuel additive, usually a 'DC' type flashlite, and special tint glasses that help bring out the 'glow' of the dye. There might be a sponsor on the site that sells these, or just do a internet search if your interested.

Not sure if the oil is going to hurt the hose in the meantime.

Sounds like it could be seepage from the lower CAC hose coming off of the IC. Have seen this before. Probably some moisture on the lower radiator support at this area also.

Near the brake master cylinder resevour at the same height and just toward the middle of the truck, you will see a threaded coupling. Mine seeps just a little power steering fluid from here. Just enough to wet the frame rail under the truck.

Check that.

You have to lie on your back under the truck and follow the oil trail up and forward (although it can blow nearly anywhere). from this vantage point (on my back under the truck) I was able to see a drop of Power Steering fluid under this joint.

I really like having a vehicle tall enough so I can crawl under it to do service, troubleshooting and repairs, although on my 1993 F-350 while lifting the rebuilt Jasper auto transmission into place, I was seriously questioning my judgement.I finally wrestled it into place with come alongs and hydraulic jacks.
