If you were in the Market for a new used truck Would you,
Rather find one that has a Bigger Exhaust, Bigger Injectors, a Chip and Bigger Tranny cooler?

Or would you Rather buy one Mostly Stock and Do the upgrades yourself?

Reason Im asking is I have a Real nice 97 F350 CC 4x4 that I am gonna sell. It has a bigger Trans cooler but Everything Else is Stock except I have a set of Swamp 175s in it now But I plan on Removeing. I have a Nice Used Rockin S 4 inch Exhaust with Hypermax Down pipe That I could put on If I knew it would help the Sale.
Whats the Majority Think?

Dang, thought you were gonna sell that 79. You'd have a buyer already. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

IMHO I like it the way I want it, so if I were to buy something with any mods I'd want to make sure (like see it in person, in the case of exhaust or something) it is good 'nuff for me.

Just depends on what's been done, I guess. But overall if I wanted a truck with mods I'd probably go with one mostly stock.

I think a stock truck is more attractive.. You have a better feeling knowing that the engine "most likely" hasn't seen seen extreme EGT levels. It just seems more reassuring.

Plus you get to do the modifications YOU want to do.

As much as it sucks to have to buy all the parts I'd rather buy a mostly stock truck. That way it is less likely that it has been beat on. Also I can do what I want to it rather than haveing to change stuff that has already been done. As far as selling your truck with mods the mods really don't increase the value of the truck much at all. Maybe 10% of the cost of the parts installed and you are narrowing your potential buyer as they may not whant the mods you have done. So anything relatively easily removed I would remove and either sell or put on your next truck.

Sell it stock.
You never make your money back on the parts by selling them with the vehicle.
You will lose every time.

Reuse your parts on your next truck or sell the parts one by one.

Good luck

Gotta agree with ratio, put the truck back to stock. Your upgrade parts have much more value to you and to the folks here who may need them, than any value if they were left on the truck. A first time diesel buyer won't have a clue as to what modded parts are truly worth. Hope you you do good with it......

Unless of course you sell it to someone off here, who knows what your selling, and will make use of the mods.

I can readily recall what I was looking for when I bought my truck. Stock daily driver. Not Grampas trailer puller. Not Junior's sled puller. Not John Force's dragster, just a daily driver. Pull everything off of it including the hitch. Not that I would advocate obfuscation /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif But they won't ask about what they don't see. (Unless it's one of us /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif)

Good Luck

I would prefer a stock or lets put it this way "virgin" truck. Or at least virgin like in appearance /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I vote for stock and real clean although exhaust would be OK or just the down pipe.
