I currently have an '01 Discovery and my '95 F350. I have made the tough decision to sell them both and get one newer truck to drive.

Here's my question:

You can see from my sig, all that I've done to my truck over the years. KBB tells me it's worth $7080 in "good" condition. That said, I'm wondering if any of the extras add value since the general public likely wouldn't know what the hell I'm talking about.

Basically, what I have is a '95 F350 with 100% of the bugs worked out, reliably making all the power most people would ever want. There are big things like all the performance upgrades and disk brake rear axle, but also smaller things like conversion of the VC harnesses, adding load spreaders to the intakes where they tend to blow, installing a rebuilt large-synchro ZF5 and adding a fluid cooler w/circulation pump, getting completely rid of the junk factory fuel system and the EBPV/EBPV actuator....I could go on and on. Does any of that translate into added value? Goofy question but I just have no idea what price to ask for this truck.
I mean, Ford didn't even make a 4x4 CC DRW pickup until the Superduty came out. They were only available in cab and chassis configuration. All the other ones you see on the road today are running bolt-on adapters. I wanted it right so I bought a 2x4 dually and converted it to 4x4 using a factory dually D60 front and the associated ford brackets, springs, etc.

What do y'all think? I know what value this truck has to me, but are these things also valuable to a buyer?

Thanks, Phillip

Phillip, I am sorry you are selling your truck. I came down several years ago and bought the transmission when you did the 4x4 conversion.

If you can find someone who understands and wants the modifications you have done then you can recoup some of the cost of the modifications. If not, as you stated you are selling a really nice truck. Do you have a time frame for selling? Finding that buyer who understands what they are looking at generally takes time. I have seen the truck and wish I was not unemployed. THAT is one I would be after big time.

That said, start high - you can always negotiate down but you cannot negotiate up, unless you are selling to the government.

There it is!! Try for some of the bailout money!!

Haha, I saw your name before I ever read what you wrote and I was gonna ask if you ever installed the tranny you got from me or if it was still just a spare. :D

Yea, I'd love to find someone who really enjoys this stuff rather than someone just looking for a hauler. Someone who will appreciate all the little things. I don't have to sell it, just making a plan to simplify my life a little and pay my current bills off. Unfortunatly, I think alot of people are in the same spot you are right now with the economy being what it is. :(

Yup, finally got it installed 6/4/2006 along with a LUK clutch conversion. Best thing I have done to the truck so far. Lovely Wife even likes it.

If I secure employment in the near future I will check with you and see if you still have the truck, I will be interested.

Good to hear from you again.
