[96' 7.3 di turbo]

hey guys can you help me out i have a 7.3 di turbo f-350 and i can get it to turn over but i cant get it to crank up and i have replaced the fuel filter and i tried to crank it over using a rag soaked in gas in the air intake box and it act like its wanting to start but what do you guy think that can be wrong with it? plz!

does the WTS light come up?
Does the tach reach 100 rpm when cranking?
Does it smoke when cranking?
Check all the fuses in engine compartment

yes the wts light comes on.
yes it reads 100 rpm when cranking.
no it doesnt smoke when cranking.
and i have checked all of the fuses.

Mine did the same thing and it was the gpr. To check I jumped it with a large screwdriver

When did this problem start?
Did this happen after you changed fuel filter?
Did it start before filter change and just quit?
Did it just not start up one morning?
No smoke / I would charge up batteries even if you think they are good.
You should measure volts with volt meter while cranking
You need 10.5 volts or more for PCM to fire injectors.
Have you tried plugging in for 2 hours and trying it.

bump come on guys what is wrong with my truck?

Check your HPOP oil reservoir. Should have oil to about an inch from the top, if not, refill and try again. I just had the same symptoms a couple of weeks ago, and it turned out the reservoir was empty. Mine had started but quit right away and wouldn't restart. I think it was too cold out and the low pressure oil pump wasn't able to pump the oil fast enough; when I went to refill with 15/40 from my unheated shop, the oil was like molasses.

On top of the HPOP you remove the small allan plug and oil level should be with in 1/2 inch from top. Just look in and if you dont see oil stick a straw or wire in and measure how low it is
