Hey all,

So through troubleshooting other issues, and all the posts I read about batteries and how they can be bad without showing a lot of symptoms.. I had them checked.

I had my Interstate Megatron Plus 850/1000 checked out- bad cells, both of them.

I replaced both. I had asked for Mega Tron Plus from Firestone, and got Interstate something else. They're 750 CCA and 925 CA.

I replaced them and I'm getting 12.6 Volts, then 11.9 KOEO, and cranking I'm getting 10.9 - 11.1. Are these within range?

Is 750cca vs 850 cc a big difference?

They have a 6 year warranty- 3 year replacement and then a few years pro-rate. About 119 a pop.

So after a few days, the numbers looked better. I assume driving a bit charged them and topped them off.

But looking at some research on the net, apparently it's a toss up for how low your volts can go while cranking before you start to damage the ficm. I've seen posts where they claim anything from 9.6 to 10.6.

Can anyone here give me an idea of what the baseline volts should be while cranking?
