Hey all, I just got great looking gray Lariat FX4 to replace a 2010 Tundra, which was not a bad truck at all but I wanted a diesel to pull a racecar hauler that gets heavier every season.

Can someone explain to me how to hardwire a Valentine radar detector to an upfitter switch? From the manual it appears I run a wire from the fuse area under the steering wheel to find a ground somewhere near the detector, which will be at the headliner and I DON'T go all the way to the switches themselves.

I know this is likely a simple DIY, but I don't have much experience with automotive electrical.

I haven't taken the ceiling console apart to find a suitable ground.
