Hey guys,
Searching the archives and so many older links that don't work. I wanted to get a current opinion from you gurus out there. My 97 F250 has almost 460k miles. Yesterday it would not crank and upon checking the oil it was over 2qts low-this has never happened. It has been running a bit rough with a little white ish smoke. After reading here and talking to my mechanic, I'm pretty sure the original Injectors need in the least an o ring rebuild. Assuming my diagnosis is correct, does it make any sense to rebuild the inj. vs buying the oem, or go to something like the stage 1's. Looks like $1000 difference in price. Labor will be approx. the same I believe.
Thanks in advance. Edit: my mechanic recommended Alliant at $250ea. With no tuner do I need the performance injectors?
