Thanks to to the help of a very nice member of this forem i was able to get those seals that you are not supose to replace on top of the injector and all new o rings i installed them and the reinstalled. it was still leaking but now from the rail. i bought one brand new rail from ford $626 and installed it and it is still leaking! its leaking from the top of the conector part were it meets the rail. its like a ball joint and it is leaking from where the ball meets the rail and posible till the top of the injector. i dont know what to do i have been dumping all my money into this truck i dont know where to go from here it still wont start when warm. i will have to get rid of this truck if i cant fix it soon so any sugestions would be very help full thank you guys

I have a 04 Powerstroke 6.0L and it shut down on me for several months. I began like you and started putting parts on it first my FICM and the truck started running after I had it reprogrammed. It got me home and then I tore it down to replace my EGR cooler, which was bad. After that my truck wouldn’t run more that 30 minutes with out shutting down. I began replacing parts like the High Pressure oil sensor. Then I went to the injectors and tore them apart cleaned them up and put all new seals on them thanks to one of the local shops that I knew the owners I got the seals that aren’t available. Needless to say after close to $2000 and allot of time I sent the truck to the shop where I got completely messed over they started throwing parts on it like I was Donald Trump. First they replaced the High Pressure Oil rails which from what I was told later from my friends who own another shop never seem to go out at least in the twenty years they have been in business they had not replaced any. This shop changed everything in the fuel system except my oil cooler and four of the eight injectors when they called and said they wanted to replace one more injector to see if that would do it. I told them replace the last four and get it over with. Since then my truck has been running after only $6000 and nine months broke down. I will never go to that shop or refer anyone to it but after I sat down and thought about it I remembered that my truck prior to all of this had a hard time starting each day regardless of the weather. I had done some research and found that when injectors start to go bad they loose voltage causing hard start-ups so if you have had issues with extremely rough starts then go ahead and change the injectors I couldn’t get the old injectors to seat good either it took the new injectors. I know its allot to change them but its better than the truck sitting for months and its allot easier to sell the truck if its running and get your money back you put into it that way also. Good luck with the truck sorry to be so long winded but I don’t want to see anyone else get messed over by a shop like I did.
