Ok I am at my wits end with this, long time member but for whatever reason I could not log in under my old account. I've already searched every forum known to man on this issue and feel like I've tried everything including cranking and cranking and cranking. I have a 2003 F250 with a 7.3 with 175k. My HPOP was leaking so I decided to replace it with a T500, figured while I was in there I might as well reseal the fuel bowl. Took everything apart, sent the pump in and while waiting I replaced all the O rings in the full bowl, picked up a new Motorcraft IPR and waited for the pump. I received the pump back, installed it with a new gasket, checked to make sure the gear was seated, torqued the bolt to 95 ft lbs. and put the fuel bowl back on, refilled the pump, cycled the key several times and all she would do was crank and crank. After checking my work and making sure I was getting fuel. I tried again to no avail, even removing the reservoir plug each time to let it bubble air.

Finally reached out to Joey at Terminator he suggested double checking the bolt on the gear, so I sucked the oil out of the reservoir and pulled it off, gear was seated and bolt is properly torqued. Cleaned up the reservoir, put on new gaskets, installed it and re filled it. I also decided I would fill the oil rails to help the process, I could only get the drivers side plug out and filled it until oil was running out. Put everything back together and went as far as cleaning each sensor connector with contact cleaner. IPR was torque properly, batteries are fully charged but it still just cranks, doesn't even act like it want to start. Still getting air bubble in the reservoir after cranking but I am at a loss. Seems to be getting oil pressure as once when removing the plug oil bubble out and the funny garage says so :smile2:. IPR is plugged in as well as all other sensors, Oil level is good, just for kicks I scanned it and got P0470 and P0603 doubt either of those would keep it from starting. While cranking it it seems to lope or miss

Truck ran fine prior to dismantling it, just leaked from the HPOP. Last thing, prior to disconnecting the batteries I hit the hot terminal on the alternator with a wrench but have checked most of the fuses and they look good unless I didn't check the right one. Any help or ideas or suggestions would be appreciated, I'm going to give it a couple days before I tow it to the shop and let them look it over. Thank you

I don't understand why you pulled the reservoir to check the gear. There is an access plate up front for that. Did you tighten that bolt? Does your scanner read PIDS? You need to monitor IPR duty cycle and IC pressure while cranking. You may have gotten a bad IPR or solenoid or maybe a bad pump. Without a scanner, you are just shooting in the dark.

Bolt torque doesn't mean much if the gear isn't seated properly.
Pull the access plate and bolt, and get us a picture.

Ask me how I know....m

Pulling the reservoir gives you a perfect view of the gear, the access plate has a limited view. Joey at Terminator recommended pulling the reservoir and in hindsight that's how I would do it if I had to do another HPOP, much better access to fuel lines and everything else with a minimal amount of work. Plus you can clearly see the gear and it is in fact seated like it should be.
