Hi Everyone!

New to the Forum here, picking up my first diesel tomorrow morning and couldn't be more excited!! It's a 2005 F-350 with 148,000 miles. It has been "bulletproofed" with a system from Sinister Diesel. Seller showed me the two page invoice from his shop with a total of $5,600.00 worth of parts and labor. Everything else is stock. First question is does anyone have experience with the Sinister Diesel system, if so what do you think? Second what if any mods would you do first? I've read one of the most important Mods is a good scanner and I see that purchase in my future. However this brings up my next question (probably stupid question), what stats should I monitor with the scanner and what are the "standard" numbers that I should be comparing to? A good read/article/thread link would be appreciated on this question. Any other knowledge you could share with me that you think I could use would be greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone in advance!

Just depends on what you want. Not sure whats in the Sinister bulletproof system but things like a coolant bypass kit, the remote oil cooler kit, an aluminum degas bottle and maybe upgrading the fuel system to a Fass or Airdog would be high on my list. Very nice truck btw

I picked up an 03 and put the Sinister coolant bypass on it after it had 200K on it. Cutting the WIX filter in half after 10K or so showed some debris but nothing mind boggling. I also bought one of those Edge displays (somewhere around $400ish) so I could monitor my EOT and ECT, was told to try and keep it within a 15 degree range from one another for heads up on head gasket problems etc. That would be a good start, don't know much else about the Sinister kit though.
