I just bought an 01 excursion with the 7.3 with 180k miles. I know those miles are on the high side but my wife will be driving it maybe 10 miles a day. My question is beside completely serviceing all of the fluids: oil, tranny, coolant, transfer case, front and rear diff. What else should I do or look at on this higher mileage truck while im servicing it.
Thanks in advance

Have her drive it more than that. It likes a good workout every now and then. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

When changing the coolant, make sure you maintain the recommended SCA (supplemental coolant additive). Also do a good flush to get the old stuff out.

Check out the FAQ pages as well as the forums. Lots of valuable information.

Be very very careful what oil is used in the transmission. Make sure it is Not MerconV rated. Ford specifically states Mercon only in these 4R100 transmissions.
