Hey guys, I was a part of another unnamed powerstroke forum, oh wait... Anyways, most of the guys on there are not pro WMO burners at least in the alternative fuels section. So I figured I could bring my questions/issues to a site where people had more experience with the 'black arts' of WMO.

So I have been burning WMO/W85 for a year and a half, probably 25,000 miles, in two different 6.0's and have had two different experiences. My first 03 6.0 I could throw 90% WMO at and it would run like a champ. The 03 had exhaust and some internal computer upgrades, no chip, no intake.

The 04 6.0 hasn't been as easy. If I blend 60% WMO to 40% D2 it runs fine but doesn't like much more than that. What happens is I'll be going down the road and the truck will start slowly dying and losing all power. I can start it again but it will die shortly there after. If I let it sit for a while it will fire back up and run again but then dies shortly after. I'm wondering if I need to cut the WMO with some unleaded to thin it out, or if I have other issues. The fuel pump is new, I'm running a Superchips programmer, I have cold air intake and exhaust out the back. I've also been thinking it might be my FICM because it's been going out slowly, but I don't understand why when I let it sit for a while it will run fine again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

Good to have a 6.0L owner here who wants to blend. I would guess your problem is you are blending with diesel fuel instead of gasoline. Gasoline is 1/4 as viscous as diesel fuel, so a little goes a long way. If you switched to blending your waste oil with gasoline at 20% the performance problems with your diesel engine will most probably go away.

Glad to have a 6.0 guy aboard. Almost everything I hear about a 6.0 is bad so I am glad to hear about someone who has actually had some success.

All ideas appreciated.

I think thats what I need to try next. I did a 15% blend in my old truck but I stopped doing that, not really sure why when I think about it.

I wonder what people will do or say when I roll up and put five gallons of RUG into my diesel truck lol

When I tell people I have a 6.0 their reply is usually, "I'm sorry."

I love the 6.0, just have to fix the bugs that are common and you have a great truck! Plus they are cheap because most people have had issues and don't want them.

The only one I ever drove had incredible power for an engine that size. I was really impressed. I have a good friend who is a Ford Master Tech and he about had a heart attack when I told him I was thinking about a 6.0. Keep feeding us the good stuff we need to hear it.
