I just ordered some 6.9/7.3 specific tools and I was a bit surprised by the prices. I ordered the pump rotating tool, the special socket to loosen and tighten the fuel lines on the IP and the injector seat cleaning tool. are you ready, the pump rotating tool was $70+, the fuel line socket was $80+ and the seat cleaner was $260+. I nearly choked on my gum, my legs got wobbly, my eyes crossed and I said " are you insane?" But no, I'm the insane one because I bought them. Hi, my name is Tim and I'm a toolaholic. Do they have meetings? I think I need a few.

Yep, you're definately a "toolaholic". Meetings are @ the IDI Rally. Next time you wanna spend money on tools, ask around here first. OkieG

Tim.......for the IP rotating tool next time use a 3/4" wrench on the square boss on the front of the IP. Older IPs did not have this and thus the tool was required. Oh Snap On web page shows a brush for the injectos holes........and a crowfoot wrench 5/8" does the job of the other tool. Can you send them all back with a small restocking charge.

I'd love to. As soon as I find the charger for the camera, which I've been looking for, for a week now. As soon as I can, I'll do that. Tim

Tim, did you find the camera? Still would like to see a pic of the inj seat cleaner. Is it a cutter or a brush? Is it easily copied?

I still need to pull my injectors and want to have all the tools lined up before hand.

Im not too much of a best tool brand buyer guy or snap on freak although i will not use sockets that will shear apart and open end wrenches that can bend.hahaha.One time a box end wrench bent for me.It said china.

I usually stay with proto.Craftsman as a last resort.I buy snap on occasionaly but i try to come back home with atleast a few dollars to buy me dinner.

Alot of tools I make myself. Its called watching, experience, grinder, tig welder, slow hand, and an american made digital caliper.God I love digital calipers.

I would of looked around.I usually always make things go back and sometimes but rarely without a reciept. It takes a good bluff,a strong eye,a bear of a temper, and a fast car to get the hell out of the place before they call the cops for threats and harrasment.

Good Luck,Have fun

Thanks for the Pic Tim. looks like a calibrated end cutter. How is it used? Do you just tighten till it seats and remove? Are you suppose to vacuum out the debri? Any concern for bits getting stuck in valve seat? What's the rental fee btw?
