My friend picked up a brand new f350 ps on Thursday. Left from Minnesota to Arizona Saturday. About 900 miles into the trip, while passing, he got a "reduced power" message and the truck slowed to a stop, killed and will not restart. He is now stranded at a Ford dealer at Dalhart, TX while he waits for them to open Mon morning. Anything he could check himself while he waits? The truck cranks but will not fire.

Most likely has to do with a pollution gear related exhaust problem. There are numerous sensors that will put the truck into limp mode. Some will prevent the engine from starting. Most likely there is an SCR related problem such as DEF pump, kinked line, NOx sensor, DEF level sensor etc.. Any persistent SRC related problem will eventually cause the engine to not start. -- You can thank the EPA for this: Send them the hotel bill!

I’m glad I could help you with this, especially with a frustrating experience like that. Please don’t hesitate to message me with any questions or concerns you have.

RCHII, please keep us in the loop with what happens with your friend. I’m not sure if I can help but drop me a line if he runs into any issues.

Dealership called today with update. They had a recorder on truck and had #4 injector trouble again. Service manager said replacing all 8 injectors. Very happy bout that decision. Jacky Jones ford service is really working hard along with Cory and Jody to resolve my problems. Thanks:thumbsup:
