i have a 04 f-350 6.0. last summer it all of a sudden started pouring black smoke out of the exhaust. i figured maybe the fuel filters were clogged so replaced them. it worked for about a day and a half and came back. i recently started school and parked the truck in september which at that point it was smoking alot and a heater hose busted. i'm starting to think it's my turbo, if so should i try and save for an aftermarket one or find new or used stocker, or rebuild. then italked to local ford dealership and they said that it is most likely my egr valve or egr cooler. i dont know if i should replace egr cooler and valve and if that doesn't fix it then be that much shorter for a new turbo.
