Hey guys, just met the guy that im trading my powerstroke for. Its a 92 F350 XLT IDI long bed. I'm ready to get this thing home and start cleaning and what not. it runs, start up is alittle rough, not too much experience but she has a rough idle. what types of things would you look into first on her? Got a couple projects like putting a door panel back on and hooking the fifth wheel back up. Thanks for the help guys, excited to get her to the house

How many miles? The rough starting could be many things. How long does wait to start light (glow plugs) stay on? Should be 10-15 seconds when it is cold. Any air infiltration in the return lines can make for tough starting, requires a lot of cranking to get fuel back up to the IP. Putting a rebuilt or new set of injectors might be warranted. Good batteries that spin it over strong are needed, replace in pairs.

The battery TERMINALS are at least as important as the batteries, so I always recommend starting with them. Click this & read all the captions: (the page may take a little while to load)

It's easier than you might think to strip the interior out of the truck, and hose it down to remove whatever's growing or rotting in there. The dash is slightly more work, but still worth the effort, IMO.
