Just bought a 96 crewcab longbed stroker that is basicaly stock. I am going to start by getting an exhaust but from there i am unsure what direction i can go. Can i just throw any chip on there? Any suggestions for what brands i should go with and what you guys have been happy with would be great.

As I'm sure you have read before, gauges before mods. Intake and exhaust you will be fine. But when you start your fueling mods, you'll need them. I would definatly do a Tymar intake, or homemade Tymar, and also one of his downpipes. As for a chip, I highly recommend DP-Tuner. Jody is a super nice guy and great to deal with. Or Tony Wildman, I haven't dealt with him, but I've read tons about him and not one bad word was said. They are both aces in their field. You could always start with a superchip tuner like I did, but you will soon realize the benifit of switch on the fly tuning. But it's always a good starter. Then the 10k mod, which I used with the superchip, but you won't need with a DP or TW chip. They program it in. FPR shim, gutted EBPV, then injectors, and bigger HPOP. etc etc. That should get you going, hope that helps.
