Hello,
I have a ’94 F250 with a 7.3 Powerstroke that has a terrible loss of power. The turbo is not spooling up and RPM’s do not go above 3k when driving on the road or even sitting at idle and hitting the accellerator, plus when hitting hills speed drops dramatically and still do not hear the turbo spooling. The truck has 270k miles on it, the turbo has just been replaced with no change. I do see the EPR solenoid closing, but unsure if it is opening up. Thanks for any help on this problem.

well make sure the epv is opening or wire it open , check for exhaust leaks at the manifold , that releases the pressure and lower your boost , and see if you can put it on a scanner and see if your high pressure oil pump is worn out (won't hold pressure), do a search on the site about high presure oil pumps , and the specs ..it is important.

Unplug the EBPV (left side on the front of the pedistal) and it should default to open or it could be stuck closed.

Well, after unhooking the EBPV linkage it is now making boost and going to the governer with no problems. Question now is, with the map sensor unplugged, it revved quicker than it does with it plugged in. It seems to hesitate around 2300 rpm, then bam, instant big shot to 3500. With the map unplugged, it goes all the way to 3500 with little if no hesitation. Could the map sensor cause this, or is that normal? Also, if the IDM was going out, would it make only 1 or 2 cylinders miss or do you lose a whole bank or if the HPOP is going bad, will that drop only a couple of injectors?

Oh, one other question.....where is the oil pressure sending unit at?

Also, this board is great, I have learned a bunch just with what little reading I have done and have accomplished over the past few days more than the dealer has ever been able to do.

Usually if only one or two injectors are not working, it is a problem eithe the valve cover gasket and under VC harness.
The oil pressure sensor is at the top of the high pressure reservoir.
Yes the MAP sensor could be at fault if it runs better when it is unplugged.
