My 1990 F250 XLT 7.3 won’t go into 1st gear under any circumstance. From D (drive) it starts from a zero mph in 3rd gear, and I can manually shift it to 2nd. The tachometer isn’t working and I’ve read that this might be the problem. So, I’ve replaced the Tach Sensor, Throttle Position Sensor, the Vehicle Speed Sensor and even the PCM - still no 1st gear and no Tachometer. All the fuses under the driver’s side panel are fine. I did start the truck without the PCM connected and surprisingly the truck started and drove normally (still no 1st or tach).

Suggestions please?
