I'm stumped. I've searched here, no luck. None of the blinkers work, or the emergency flashers, not even the indicators in the dash. I have checked every fuse = all good, and replaced the flasher relay, still no luck. I have brake lights and running lights, so I know the bulbs are good. What else could be wrong???

The bulbs in the tail lights of the truck are a dual filliment design, its like two bulbs in one. So it is possible for your turn signal to burn out, but still have running/brake light. Your running lights and brake light share the same filliament. Just some food for thought. With the way it sounds i'd check your multifuction switch.

Did you know the front flasher can is for the turn signals and there is one on the back side of fuse panel in dash for the hazard flashers. The hazard button on the column will get dirty and will occassionally have to be turned on/off on/off on/off... or one will work and one won't or neither may work.

I agree also on checking the multi-switch. Don't know how many miles you have. You said your rear bulbs are good, what about the front ones?

I was going to say the same things...relay on the rear of the fuse panel in cab...can also check the cylinder shaped one on front just in case...AND the multifunction switch (turn signal lever) if those two are no luck...Let us know how it goes.

Good Luck,

took me about 25 minutes...its really not that bad...just bull the clamshell off of the steering column. You will need to pull the ignition cylider out...just have the key in the "ON" position and there is a little button you can use a small screwdriver to depress and the cylinder will pull right out. Once the clamshell is off there are a few small screws (small torx IIRC) and a wireing harness or two and thats it! Its not bad at all...am I leaving anything out guys??

I figured the tailight bulbs were dual filament, but the running lights were one and the other filament was for turning and brakes? Could a bad bulb cause ALL of them not to work? The front bulbs are also good - I pulled them and looked. And I don't think it is the multifunction switch, because the hazards don't work either. The truck has 93,000 miles on it. Would the hazard relay (on the backside) stop the turn signals from working??

You could have several issues and not know it. If you pulled the bulbs just replace them. They can be old and fragile and even broken but not visible.

You have low miles. How long have you owned the truck? Did this just happen or an on going issue? Do you have candle sticks or pole markers, or anything tied into the turn signal system?

A bad bulb will cause one side not to work.

You are right, the brakes and turn signals share the same filament.
The hazard lights are controlled by the "multi-function" switch also.
One other thing to check would be the "Third brake light", the one on top of your cab. I hear that going out does really weird things.
If you do get another multi-function switch, DON'T get it from the dealer. Most auto parts stores will have it or E-Bay has LOT'S of them.
Easy to replace and we will walk you through it if you need help.

I've owned it since 1999 and 42,000 miles. There is nothing tapped into the OEM turn signals. This is an "all of a sudden" problem - it just happened. Third brake light seems to be working fine. Are we still pointing to the multifunction switch? What is the cost of one of those?
