I ran the self diagnostic on my truck last night. I received a lot of stuff, but the ones that worried me were the AD codes. It was AD0-7 and there were some numbers after that. Can anyone tell me what these codes are referring to, and what they mean? Thanks.

As previously posted and discussed, the trip odometer trick is rather meaningless. It doesn't provide any OBD info. Grab a code reader if your curious about codes.

How is it meaningless? Why do they put that on there if it doesn't mean anything?

Well, it does and it doesn't..... the "odometer trick" puts only the instrument cluster through a self diagnostic routine. The output means little to us in the field and is used more by the cluster manufacturers to self test (once again) only the instrument cluster.

No other modules are polled for codes in this self test, nor can codes stored in any other modules be displayed.

The information that is displayed is useful... just not to us.
