I currently have 17.5 X 17's on my 2006. At some point in the near future I'll be looking at tires. There are 18's [tires & wheels] which are takeoffs available, but like some of the other folks I don't know for sure if they will work ok on my truck. I have no suspension upgrades. The spare shows: 1LS, 5 o 32213. The "o" is small. 17 X 17 1/2J. :read:

What year and model truck are the takeoff wheels from? We would be happy to see if they work on your application.

HELP WITH WHEEL AND TIRE FIT

Guys I am looking at the KMC XD strike wheel in chrome for a 2013 F250 super duty, Crew cab With the snow plow prep kit!
The wheel the shop is telling me will fit is
XD strike 20x10 8/170
-24 mm of set and tire size is 305/55/20 mickey thompson
I told him I do not want to trim or any of that, I am concerened that they may not fit? Help

Since you're dealing with a retail shop, the answer is easy. Have them guarantee that the tire/wheel combo will fit with no rubbing. Then have them test-fit one wheel/tire to a front hub. With the new tire/wheel installed do a lock to lock figure 8 in the parking lot. If there's no rubbing, you've bought yourself a set of tires and wheels. If there is rubbing, the cost is on the shop, and you can try a smaller combo.

A 10" wide wheel with a -24mm offset is on the aggressive side and is mainly used on lifted applications. Chances are you'll have some tire rub. Compared to where the factory wheels sit now, the 20x10 ET-24 will sit about 3.5" further out towards the fender, not including the tire. The 20x9 +18 Strike would be the better choice.

Resurrecting an old thread. I just did the V/B code mod on my 2001 Excursion 4x4. The stock wheels look a little small. I would like to go from stock size to 285/70/18. What spec rim will I need (18x7 vs 18x8), and is there still one in production. Or do I have to scour the country for the 2004 King Ranch rims?

LT285/70R18 is a pretty rare size. Give us a call if we can help you with your fitment, your salesman will be happy to talk to you about what you are trying to achieve and he may be able to make some additional tire size recommendations.

As for wheels, here's a link to 18" wheels that are approved for your vehicle and will fit the LT285/70R18E size.

LT285/70R18 is a pretty rare size.

There are at least two available, but expensive at around $400 each:
Toyo Open Country M/T Mud-Terrain 285/70R18

And Discount Tire Direct carries at least one brand for a similar high price:

Oh boy! I'm so lost. I can't get a straight answer no matter who I talk to.
I wanted the Moto Metal 951 wheels forever... Every truck I owned. Never happens. Now for my 2013 F350, Im told they don't make ones to fit my stock truck with 18" wheels due to offset/ backset... Who knows.
What in the world do I need in terms of backset or offset to stay stock without rubbing? I'm planning on the stock rubber size as well.

I want to replace my stock dually aluminum wheels with stock steel rims.

I keep having problems with balancing and rim dents/ some leaks.

My truck is a work truck/ daily driver.

Steel rims cost less than aluminum and my aluminum rims look like crap.

DO I NEED SPACERS FOR FRONT AND REAR to make up for the thinner steel wheels?

Any other problems PROS/CONS to consider ?

What year F350 are the steel dually wheels off of? As long as the dimensions are correct (width, offset ETC.) spacers will not be needed.

Michelin LTX are on current wheels.

I would buy one set of 6 new steel wheels.

Not if you use '99-'04 F-350 dually rims, or rims that meet the specs for '99-'04 F-350 Dually rims:


16" x 6.0 K
5.35" offset
8 studs
170mm bolt circle
2600 pounds weight capacity @ground

I checked with our local go-to choice for wheels - Southwest Wheel.com - and they didn't have any steel wheels for '99-'04 F-350 duallies. They had plenty of dually alloy wheels, but you said you don't want those.


Caution! Earlier Ford dually wheels won't fit - they have a different bolt circle. And 2005-up Ford dually wheels won't fit either - they have different offset. So if you find an F-350 in a bone yard, be certain it is a '99 thru '04 if you want to buy the take-off wheels.

I would recommend going to your local Discount Tire store in the Chicago area so they can swap out the wheels for you. The local stores like us will not be undersold.

OK gentleman, I need some expert advice.
Regarding my 1987 f250 4x4 6.9L, will 1999 16" dodge wheels fit? Or will 17" 2006 dodge wheels fit?
I have the opportunity to purchase both sets of wheels with tires for a ridiculous deal and I think the 17s will look great.

According the the seller both are 8x6.5, lug centric, with 4.5 backspacing. "I don't have the hub measurements but it clears a Dana 80 hub so it should work"...

Will these fit my 87 4x4
