I just took my first 1,000 mile trip to North Dakota where it is ten below weather conditions with my 2001 4x4 psd after a complete engine swap. It used two gallons of oil, I don't know what to do. Here is the link to the thread of my engine build. http://www.thedieselstop.com/forums/f24/almost-completed-engine-swap-couple-questions-213793/
I replaced the injector o-rings with complete kits from Napa on the initial rebuild. I took time installing the o-rings and the injectors. I don't think that they are leaking, but not going to rule it out. Are the Napa o-rings junk? There are no visual leaks under the truck. It has great power with no chip installed. Starts great, doesn't miss at all. No known issues other than the massive oil consumption. The engine I installed was in good condition out of a 1996 psd. It had crosshatches in the cylinder walls. I didn't notice any unusual engine blow by with the oil cap off with the engine running. Any body have any ideas before I have to drive back to Texas? Any ideas or information on what to check or repair will help out. I brought tools with me just in case and have a warm and clean shop to work out of.
