This may be a stupid question, but I was just wondering. My dealer recently added some engine oil dye to the truck to detect a small oil leak that ended up coming from a clamp. Does this dye have any negative impact on the oil. I couldn't find anything using the search feature.

thanks

I doubt it will have any effects on your engine. We used this stuff when I worked in the wind tunnels at NASA. Really good stuff to see how air flows over an aerodynamic shape with the aid of UV lights. Did a wonderful job of plugging up the pressure ports though. It has the consistency of a 30 weight motor oil. If your really worried about it, change your oil and filter. That will get most of it out.
