Have been having routine oil/filter changes done at same oil change place for years--no problems with the Valvoline filters. This last time, the filter came with a small plastic disc that was to fit on top of the spring-loaded relief assembly. Never seen it before, nor had the tech. Told him no way was that plastic disc going on my truck, he went and got a Motorcraft filter. The paper with instructions showed a picture of two spring assemblies--one that stuck up about 6" like mine, and one that only stuck up about 2-3". The taller assembly required the plastic disc.
Anyone seen this? Been changing the filters on 2 6.4s at same place for over 250k miles and never had the plastic disc show up.
