I was watching a couple of shows the other day when it talked about if you had a head gasket failure to use Bar's Leak products. Has anyone used any and do they work? I haven't had the pleasure of having a head gasket fail yet, (knock-on-wood) but it says that you can get the repair or fix additive and it should help. Also they sell a Rear main seal repair additive as well. Since I have a little leak from behind the engine, just wondering about adding something, but I don't want to hurt the engine.

your leak sounds like a very common bedplate leak on the 6.0. I wouldn't worry about it. As far as the mechanic in a bottle stuff I would waste the money. with The temps and pressures the 6.0 sees, that stuff woudln't do a thing. if it needs headgaskets there is no way around it. Just make sur eyou get ARP studs installed when the new headgaskets are done

Thom..if it goes in coolant..doubt it'll help stick heads to block. Might plug up egr cooler? I dont know.

I'd also be careful altering chemisty of oil. Would it work on RMS..I doubt it would. IIRC...more reported actual rms replacement + mine didnt stop o. leak. Good luck!

btw..I've used bars leak in rad. on gasser with fairly good results, but not a diesel. Point on your Q..if not already done..seems likely someone will?

+ the 6.0 uses oil to fire the injectors and when you start adding stuff liek mentioned I am sure you could have some serious problems with your motor
