I have a oil leak on the intercooler it is on the drivers side and it is leaking down onto the frame and making a big mess. I took it to the ford dealer and they said it was bececause I have a K&N air filter in it which I think is a bunch of @&*t is there some type of sensor or something that could be causing this? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

Well BOZO that does sound like a bunch of crap. The oil is inside your intcooler most likely because of the CCV fumes which are feed right back in to the fresh air intake system. This is the factory design to reduce emissions. The oil is leaking out because you probably have a loose clamp on one of your boost tube boots. May just need tightening or you may have to remove it, clean the oil off so you will get a good seal and reinstall everything.
The leak has nothing to do with your aftermarket air filter.

I have taken off the hose and cleaned it up with ether and let it all dry and put it back together and it is still leaking? Is there any thing better to clean it with or put on it to get a better seal? I know that the clamp is tight too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

The only thing I have used on the boost tube boots is hair spray. Thats right hair spray. The aerosol kind, Its used to keep them from blowing off when your pushing 30+ lbs of boost. First clean all parts. Spray it on the metal tube, then on the inside of the rubber boot, assemble and let dry. Not sure how good of a sealant it is ,but it sure makes them stay on.

K&N air filters are not real HIGHLY recomended on this sight.(there are some that will defend them to the death too..but JMHO and many others too.) There was an article that told about them not sealing tightly with the air box. Also if not maintained PROPERLY,,oil and cleaning. They are not as effecient as paper. (Most dont maintain properly and dont even know it)I ditched mine for an open element air filter from NAPA. The Tymar copy.
It really breathes now,,,better than with the K&N replacement.
I also doubt it "Caused" your oil. It is normal...as mentioned above due to the CCV routing.
There is a mod some do on here to eliminate that....re route the crank case vent.
