So I changed my oil on my 2002 f250 noticed the plug was over torque. I bought a new one put it on. I looked at threads saw nothing was damaged on the oil pan. The new plug went it so smooth zero problems with it going on and aligning. I looked under there today and noticed drip of oil on the bolt part of the plug. It's torque down right though. The new bolt I can't remember if it had a rubber gasket though. Could that be the cause? Or could it be running down from somewhere else. Iv always had a little oil on the bolt but this time seems like it a little bit more.

I have a copper washer on my drain plug bolt. I replace the washer every couple of oil changes. I don't have any drips. Is it possible you forgot to add the washer?

From what I remember right it's just a metal, stainless? Maybe washer. Same with plug. I didn't see any rubber washer like the old one stock one had built in it. I got it from auto zone as a last minute last resort deal. It isn't magnetic either.

I have my oil changed at Zip Lube every 5000 miles and I supply them with a new
copper washer that I buy at one of the auto stores....

YES!!! A new washer every oil change, and I don't get any drips anymore...

Washer are cheap....a couple bucks for 4/5 of them...and NO drips on the garage floor or driveway

Ps...."IF"" you had it done at an oil change place, they can hold a shop vacuum hose on your oil filler cap, and unscrew the oil plug for a couple of seconds and replace the washer, and not lose a drop of oil
