Following the manual when I did my EGR/oil cooler replacement, I removed the oil return tube on the oil filter housing. That's the plastic tube that goes up through the center of the oil filter. There was an o-ring sealing it to the filter housing body. The parts guy at the local dealership came up with the part number of 3CZ-6691-AA. This part is a round flat rubber gasket that looks like a small thick rubber band. Did Ford change from the o-ring to this type of gasket?? Looking at a parts lookup with pictures online, as best as I can tell, I got the correct part number. I just don't want to install it and it not be the correct part.

Yes, that seal is a square rubber o-ring, brown in color if I recall correctly.

Thanks FD. I'm very sure there was a grey round o-ring in there before. I went ahead and installed the brown square o-ring and it seemed to fit good.
