ok the guy that was gonna buy mu truck went on vacation till the end of sep, and i moved to back to illinois. my truck is in florida and im not and i dont want to leave it sitting around that long. so my thought is to borrow dads 1990 f250 7.3 w\ a 5 spd zf wide ratio, and a tow dolly and take a little trip to florida. Now the question is, to tow my truck the 1000 miles could i just put the transfer case in nuetral and fly down the road since the transfer case has a pump in it, or am I forgetting something?

for state of mind on a long trip like that, i would rather just pull the driveshaft off the yoke, tape the ujoint, and hang it from the under carriage. i would hate to fry a transfer case or worse by not pulling it. it will likely take you no more than 15 minutes to do it. it will likely take you more than 15 minutes just to order the parts if you fry the tcase..
