I had this exact filter for a year or so, mounted under the hood. I replaced it with their metal spin-on canister filter, mounted it under the truck in front of the forward tank. I cut the rubber fuel line and spliced it in there.

The filter you have pictured is a 30 micron, the one I installed is 10. I was concerned about fuel flow, but haven't had any problems. I always carry a spare canister in the truck box.

PM me if you want pics.

looks interesting.
when you say you cut the rubber line, isn't it hard plastic molded line?
I wonder if this would put any added strain on the stock mechanical fuel pump in the valley of our engines, as you're asking it to "pull" through a filter, now it "pushes" through the filter in the stock configuration, true? I may have the fuel flow in my head incorrect.

Of course gravity helps the flow as well.

Have you noticed a significant reduction in crud at your factory fuel filter and FPR screen after installing this supplimental filter?

It looks like it's a removable screen that you clean and put back in, yes?

that was one of the other things on my mind...how much strain it would put on the factory fuel pump because i have 212000 miles on it and im not sure if its original. i would think that would have a little strain on the pump.
and i also wanted to know if anyone noticed that the stock filter stays clean longer and the FPR screen
thanks for your opinions guys

I have had THIS filter on for two years with no problems. It is a Cummins filter with water separator. Part numbers and online supplier is in the caption. Since this picture was taken I noticed some rock dings on the can so I now have a piece of mud flap hose clamped to the front side for rock protection. Hope this helps, Randy
