i am sure this has been covered many times, but i cant find where its spelled out clearly,

i bought a wicked wheel , high flow turbo outlet & non ebv pedestal, to upgrade my stock early 99 turbo, BUT now that i have the parts i find that the shaft has enough play that i can feel it , not in and out its up and down , what are my options? can i rebuild myself or do i buy a better turbo, i did read somewhere on this site i only have one direct bolt on option for a performance turbo, how much better would this "so called" performance turbo really be

You should be able to feel some up and down play, but just barely. The D66 Bean's sells is a direct bolt on and flows a lot more air (about 350cfm) more than the stocker. It is quieter than stock, not much whistle at all in the cab, just a whooshing sound.

That wicked wheel is the same as the wheel in your early 99 if ya didn't know. From what I understand the wicked wheel is basically a 94-early 99 wheel anyways. You found an early 99 non-ebpv pedistal? Sweet! make sure to inspect your up-pipes real close too, and if there is any question you might as well put a new set on.

turbos on and works good spools way faster than stock one did, 25lbs of boost real easy, (no chip yet), but lost most of my whistle at low speed, apparently the damage/bent up blades where causing it to really whistle loud just off idle, did change the pedistle to a non ebv and both sets of orings, valve cover gaskets are new also and the leaks even more oil now than it did, it really apears to becomming out of the head gasket by #8, missing has gotten worse , the place i got the remans is sending me to new ones to try , i belive it #6 & #8 by checking with a temp gun, i dont have access to any scanner or other fancy tool
