Ordering '08 F-350 Need some input

I ordered an '08 F-350, SRW crew cab, 8 ft box to replace a '03 Dually (DRW), crew cab, 8 ft box F-350. (Available for sale.) Need some input and thoughts on a couple items.

I tow a tag 26 ft. enclosed car trailer. The car inside is up to 4,000 lbs. The trailer tips the scale at 5K.

Questions:
Do I need a dually?
What rear gear should I order? Limited slip is a must.
Any other packages or items to help in the tow area?
Bump up tires and rims?
Should I try to position for Job 2?
Alternators has been covered on another post.

I have it pretty well loaded up. Just need to give the dealer any last minute changes on Monday.

Thank you in advance for your time and thoughts. This is a big move for me and I want to get it right. The '03 was purchased from a buddy used 18 months ago so I have no ordering experience.

For a tag trailer that grosses less than 10,000 pounds? No.

With SRW and diesel engine, you don't have a choice. 3.73 is the only ratio available. LS is an option.

If you decide to go with a Dooley, then your LS choices are 4.10 and 4.30. If you don't plan to maybe buy a bigger race trailer, then 4.10 is your logical choice.

Towing pkg is standard. 12.5k receiver is std on the SRW. 15k receiver is standard on the Dooley. I'd add the TowCommand System and the Camper Pkg. The only thing you'll get with the camper pkg is slightly heavier front springs and rear sway bars. But that's a good way to get decent rear sway bars.

No. Stock tires and wheels are what you need for towing. Bigger tires and wheels are only for showoff and ego stroking, and they almost always reduce towing capacity. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Only if there's something in Job 2 you can't live without. Download the 2008 F-350 Order Guide from www.sunrisefordfleet.com and study the Job 2 changes. It's your money so you decide. Realize you won't be driving a Job 2 truck until at least September, whereas a Job 1 truck could be here before the end of July - if your dealer doesn't find one that meets your specs in stock or on the train sooner.
