I have an '03 excursion and im not sure where too put the plugs to power the monitor. They are two small red colored male plugs. Do I have to get some female connect of the same style and splice them into the ignition wires? If I plug the OBDII plug in the monitor turns on but doesnt read anything. Is it normal that I have to unplug the OBDII connector to start the truck? Does it only do that because I dont have a 12V power source hooked up to it yet? On the pyro there are red and yellow wires and on the wiring harness for the monitor there are pink and brown. Which go to which?

When I talked to bullydog about my truck and outlook they said I had the harness for the 03-04 trucks and the harness they explained i needed was like the one you are describing to me which seems like an 05. I dont know if you can use an 05 on yours but the 2 males need to go to your fuse box. Im assuming one will be for power and one for ground. And no, you should be able to leave that connected at all times(obdII). The pyro should have a short and long wire and the monitor should have a short and long. Match the short to long and vice versa.

I got the outlook from ebay so hopfully if I send the 05 harness back to bully dog they will give me the 03-04 one. I have everything pluged in except the two power wires and the monitor would actually power up but it wouldnt work correctly. While I was driving around my transmission started slipping for some reason. I noticed the tow/haul light was flashing on and off. As soon as I pulled the OBDII connector it stopped and the tranny was fine. I think the outlook was confusing the tranny ECU. I hope it doesnt do this when I have the power wires hooked up.

I got it, I was just over thinking it and hooked some of the connections together wrong. But on the MAP harness whoever was building it made a mistake. They put a female plug where the male was supposed to go and that confused the hell outta me. This thing works awesome I love it. Gonna drill and tap the pyro tonight and then we'll see how well the defuel works on it.
