Overhead Map Light Switch

2000 Excursion- The push awitch for the overhead console map light came apart. Of course it failed in the on position. Has anyone had to replace one? The dealer told me I had to replace the entire overhead console, for $900. Parts guy could not figure out the diagram. It sounds goofy that the switch is not servicable.
