Been a long time since I have visited however:

Still have the 05 King Ranch, rolling up around 300k now, and it is stock. It hasn't been tinkered with, simply maintained. With one exception.
It has had a bit of an issue with coolant loss via the EGR cooler, it wasn't critical however I had it book in to repair. The night before I was going to run it in, I topped it up with water and the overnight temp dropped to minus stupid (F). A couple of frost plugs were on the drive when the sun came out, and I broke my hip kicking myself in the ass.
Neither here nor there, I arranged for a tow to take it in, parked it at the end of the driveway (for ease of mudfree hookup) where some miscreant liberated my truck from my possession.
The police found it a couple of miles away, where it looked like some leprechaun off-roading in the grand State of Impairment was undertaken, and it was burned to the chassis. Could it have overheated to the point of combustion? The engine bay was far from immaculate. BTW I have requested the assignment of a special investigator from my insurer, which they have accommodated.

Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Still have the 05 King Ranch
Actually it doesn't sound like you have much of it left. Sorry for your loss. :frown2:
I doubt they got it hot enough to start on fire, but it might be a possibility with absolutely no coolant in it. Kind of a moot point now, though.
Hope your insurance company takes care of you.

Thanks for the condolences, it was a great truck. It is a moot point certainly, however I had some needledicked (can I say that?) officer of self importance ask me what I used to start the fire. Fortunately a more senior, and respected Sgt told him to get back in his car. I had to get THAT cop; there is always one.
My insurance company is great, happy that I recorded the entire conversation too.

The thought had crossed my mind as well...but then I grew up in Chicago where vehicles and restaurants have a habit of going up in flames at convenient times.

Ofcourse you would never torch your truck just because the 300K-mile engine block might have cracked from freezing and require expensive repairs but the officer has probably met a few guys that would.

Sorry for your loss.

Heard. I'm sure he has as well. About 300k km's or 180k miles. We just got the occupancy permit for our new home, I wanted it fixed to pull the "toy box" there and then trade on a new one.

If they catch whoever borrowed and roasted your truck, get his number for me...
